This directory provides contact details for community legal centres in New South Wales.
Specialist centres are those which service the whole state and provide assistance to a specific group of people, or to people affected by a particular area of the law.
If your legal issue is relating to a specialist area of law (e.g. immigration, animal law, Centrelink, etc.), or if you are a person with specific needs in relation to the law (e.g. a woman, an older person, a child, a refugee, a person with intellectual disability, etc.), you can check the list of specialist centres on page 12 of the directory, and the further information relating to each specialist centre on pages 12-25, to find information and contact details for the appropriate specialist centre that may be able to help with your legal problem.
Generalist centres are those which offer a broad range of legal assistance and information to their local community, and are located across NSW.
Beginning on page 50 of the directory is the Suburb and Town Index, which you can use to find which generalist community legal centre services your area. The index is sorted alphabetically by suburb/town, and lists next to each suburb and town the generalist community legal centre that services the area.
NOTE: There are some geographic areas of NSW that do not have a generalist CLC. These are listed in the index, with ‘No Generalist CLC’ in the Centre column. All people needing assistance with a NSW legal problem, including those who live outside of a CLC catchment area, can contact LawAccess on 1300 888 529 for free legal information.
