Community legal centres networks in NSW

 

Join a community legal centres network to share knowledge and experiences, provide peer support in complex areas, hear from guest presenters, coordinate advocacy, and develop joint strategies for improving clients' experiences of the justice system.

We have 20 networks that cover a range of topics and meet quarterly in February, May, September and November each year. Details about upcoming events and how to register are available on our Upcoming quarterlies and training page prior to each event.

Actionstep Community of Practice

This network brings together CLC staff focused on the transition to and use of the Actionstep case management system to share experiences and optimise its use.

Administration and Finance Network

Connects administration and finance staff from across CLCs to discuss operational challenges, streamline systems and strengthen financial management.

AI and Technology Community of Practice

Explores emerging technologies and their ethical, effective and secure use within community legal work.

Communications Network

Links communications staff from CLCs to share tips and strategies in areas like digital engagement, marketing, writing and design.

Community Legal Education Workers Network

A forum for practitioners delivering community legal education to exchange ideas, resources and approaches that improve impact.

Coordinators and Directors Network

Brings together centre leaders to discuss management, funding, governance and sector development. This network is for coordinators and directors at community legal centres only. Where the centre coordinator or director is unable to attend, they can nominate someone else to attend in their place.

Disaster Planning and Response Network

Focuses on supporting CLCs to prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters while ensuring continuity of client services.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Network

Provides space for CLC workers committed to strengthening diversity, equity and inclusion within their workplaces and services.

Domestic Violence and Victims Compensation Network

This network discusses issues relating to domestic and family violence, victims compensation policies and legislation. It makes recommendations to government and non-government bodies.

Employment and Discrimination Law Network

A network for CLC workers to share knowledge, casework insights and updates in employment and discrimination law.

Family Law, Care and Protection Network

Facilitates collaboration among CLC staff working in family law, child protection and related areas of practice and policy.

First Nations Justice Working Group

This network is a place to share experience and knowledge about how we can better support and engage in First Nations justice work, and keep ourselves accountable for the commitments we've made and continue to make. All welcome.

Guardianship and Succession Network

Connects practitioners working on guardianship, wills and estates matters to exchange expertise and monitor legal developments.

HJP (Health Justice Partnerships) Network

Brings together workers collaborating in Health Justice Partnerships to share learnings and strengthen service models.

Law Reform and Policy Network

Coordinates advocacy and policy work across the CLC sector, supporting collaboration and informed engagement in law reform.

PII (Professional Indemnity Insurance) Committee

A forum for principal solicitors (or their delegates) to discuss insurance, risk management and compliance with professional obligations.

Prisoner's Rights Working Group

Advocates for the rights of people in custody and provides a platform to share insights and strategies from prison-related legal work.

RRR (Rural Regional and Remote) Network

Connects CLC staff working in rural, regional, remote and very remote areas to share experiences and address challenges.

Yarn Up

A network for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander CLC staff to connect, exchange knowledge and strengthen Indigenous-led justice work. For CLC Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff only. 

Youth Advocacy Network

Focuses on youth legal issues, creating a space for CLC practitioners to collaborate and strengthen advocacy for young people.
