National Association of Community Legal Centres, Combined Community Legal Centres Group NSW and the Kingsford Legal Centre provided a submission to the Senate Inquiry into the effectiveness of the Commonwealth Sex Discrimination Act 1984 in eliminating discrimination and promoting gender equality. The submission gave 45 recommendations that covered the scope of the Act, the powers of the Sex Discrimination Commissioner and the process and remedies of making a complain under the Act.
