Which CLC are you working for, what is your job title and how long have you been there?
EECLC, Manager/Principal Solicitor and 3.5 years.
Where were you before Elizabeth Evatt, and what was your previous job title?
I was in W.A. as the Principal solicitor at the Albany FVPLS, and before that I was a senior solicitor doing Prison Outreach at the Women’s Law Centre in Perth.
How long have you been in the CLC sector?
14 years, I started out as a vollie at northern rivers CLC in 2005
What do you love most about working in this sector?
I love the passion and dedication that everyone has to social justice, and whenever there’s a big challenge or crisis we unite even stronger than before!
What do you think is the biggest challenge the sector has overcome since you’ve been in the sector?
Definitely The funding cliff in 2015/16.
Why did you put your hand up to be Chairperson for CLCNSW?
I’m really passionate about our sector and raising up our voices as independent not for profit community services.
What do you see as the biggest challenge facing the sector in the coming year?
Taking ownership of and shaping the conversation around what community legal centres are and the value we bring to the legal assistance sector.
What are you most excited about for your time as Chairperson?
Having the opportunity to represent the sector in higher level conversations around funding sustainability.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Meditating in a ceramics studio at home with lots of cats!
